She wrote the first of her many Billboard No. 1 hits, "A Groovy Kind of Love," while still in high school. Now Carole Bayer Sager looks back at her amazing, award-winning career as part of this Commonwealth Club event in San Francisco. The author of the recent bestselling memoir, They're Playing Our Song -- which also happens to be the title of her long-running Broadway musical -- Sager has some stories to tell. After all, she had long-running romantic relationships with both Marvin Hamlisch and Burt Bacharach, picked up an Academy Award for "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)" and a Grammy for "That's What Friends Are For," among multiple nominations for both, and has penned hit tunes like "Nobody Does It Better" and "Don't Cry Out Loud" for the biggest names in the business, among them Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Elton John and many more. Sager is set to stick around after the discussion for a book signing.
