From classical music to the driving choruses and swells of modern rock and hip-hop, Envisioned Strings is a Washington, D.C.-based string ensemble that pushes boundaries and blurs the lines between musical genres. Selections for this evening of solo and chamber performances at Alexandria's Convergence Arts Initiative include Schubert's String Quintet in C Major, Astor Piazzolla's The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires for string quintet and solo violin, and an arrangement of Pink Floyd's moving 1975 single "Wish You Were Here" for solo cello.
