Marin Baroque's acclaimed chamber choir and period-instrument orchestra take full advantage of the beauty and acoustics of San Anselmo's First Presbyterian Church, as well as its lovely outdoor courtyard, for a series of engaging concerts. Argentina-born conductor and music director Daniel Canosa leads the ensemble in works by Bach, Handel and other baroque composers, but the group's adventurous programming has also been known to include jazz, opera and a variety of intriguing guest artists. Along with the chamber orchestra staples of violin and violas, Marin Baroque is made up of musicians on recorder, therobo, viola da gamba, cornetto, organ and harpsichord, resulting in a truly authentic early-music experience, and most performances are followed by a reception with light refreshments.
