What You'll Get
Set phasers to "Mozart" for this inventive performance from the Pacific Opera Project. Abduction From the Seraglio is a comic opera by Mozart that tells the tale of a Spanish noblewoman and her maid who are captured by pirates, and her fiancée Belmonte's attempts to rescue her. But in this production, the classic opera is presented as a Star Trek parody. That means Mozart's nefarious pirates are now Klingons, the captured noblewoman has green skin, and Belmonte and his fellow rescuers are the phaser-toting crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise. This lighthearted performance at the Ford Amphitheatre in Los Angeles boldly goes where no opera has gone before.
