What You'll Get
Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Lila Downs draws on the ancient traditions of her Mixtec and Zapotec ancestors and blends it with everything from rock, blues, jazz and soul to rap, cumbia, Latin folk, and even klezmer to create her truly singular look and sound. Fueled by her rich smoky voice, her 2011 disc Pecados y Milagros debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Latin music charts, and for the last year, she's been touring behind her eighth studio album, Balas y Chocolate. But for this special performance under the stars at the Ford Amphitheatre, she'll be joined by L.A.'s own Grandeza Mexicana Folk Ballet Company for a salute to traditional celebrations from Mexico's various regions and indigenous cultures.
The Ford is an outdoor venue and can get cold at night. Please plan accordingly. Additionally, it is a county park, so parking lots and the venue in general are located in hilly terrain. Comfortable shoes are recommended.
You are welcome to bring food and drink (beer and wine only) and picnic on our plaza or in your seats. Picnic tables are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please visit the Ford Amphitheatre websites for more info on directions, theater policies, parking and special services and food and dining.
