It's Christmas 1949, but instead of a gift, radio star Jimmy Jenkins gets some bad news: His show, the Jimmy Jenkins Variety Hour, is being canceled, which will leave him and his cast and crew out on the street just before the holidays. In a last ditch attempt to save his show, he convinces his bosses to let him and his cast put on their Christmas special. There's just one problem: They don't have a Christmas special, which means that if they want to keep their jobs, Jimmy and his cast and crew will have to pull together a festive and fun variety show on the spot. The Jimmy Jenkins Christmas Special is a lighthearted musical full of Christmas music and holiday cheer, coming to the Ghostlight Theatre in Sun City West.
