This is Luis Valdez’s most complex, ambitious, and satisfying play. Satirical, comic, filled with puns and painful insight, the play explores the search for an authentic Chicano identity against the limiting stereotypes and restricted possibilities afforded Mexican Americans in the 1980’s United States.

Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 is required to attend all indoor performances, rehearsals, meetings, workshops, and events at The Morgan-Wixson Theatre.

“Full vaccination” means that either 14 days have passed since receiving the second dose of FDA authorized double-dose vaccines, or that 14 days have passed since receiving the sole dose of FDA authorized single-dose vaccines.

Children under age 5 must provide proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours prior to arriving at the Morgan-Wixson Theatre, along with a school-issued ID. Guests who are unable to be vaccinated must request ADA/medical accommodations prior to ticket purchase by contacting the box office, and then must provide proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours prior to arriving at the Morgan-Wixson Theatre, along with a government-issued ID – Rapid or antigen tests will not be accepted.

All who enter may display proof of their vaccine either on a smartphone, or by showing a physical copy of their vaccination card, or by showing the State of Califonia Digital Vaccine Record (available at: https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov) , along with a government-issued ID.

Guests younger than 18 may present a school-issued photo ID. Guests under 12 must be accompanied by an adult who meets the above requirements.

Masks are required and capacity limits will be followed, as mandated by the County of Los Angeles and State of California. At this time, all persons not on stage must wear a mask at all times while inside the Morgan-Wixson, regardless of vaccination status. Masks with air valves and gaiter masks will not be accepted.
