What You'll Get

For one very special night, the Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival presents its sixth annual program at the Ivy Substation in Culver City, hosted by Ingrid Graham and Sky Palkowitz and featuring five solo performances by five talented artists. The theme of the night is Looking Back: Stepping Forward. Karen Bankhead portrays a black, female Forrest Gump in Etta Mae Mumphries: And the Rest is History. Dina Morrone plays a woman who moves to Italy in search of film stardom in The Italian In Me. In Journey This, Cheray O'Neal takes on the role of a woman grieving the death of her family. From My Grandmother's Grandmother Unto Me features Clarinda Ross in a chronicle of five generations of Appalachian women. Finally, The Lindz presents humorous, relationship-related spoken word poetry in WASP. LAWTF was founded in 1993 as a means to empower female writers, directors and performers.
