What You'll Get

Currently on a national tour that's taken them from coast to coast, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine comes to Mechanics Hall in Worcester for a performance of the masterwork Neil Armstrong took with him to the moon in 1969. Dvorak's No. 9 in E minor, better known as the New World Symphony, is one of the most popular and recognizable classical pieces ever written. Also on the bill are Verdi's Overture to La Forza del Destino and Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3, with Alexei Grynyuk as the featured soloist. Boasting more than 100 musicians, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine has released more than 75 discs over the course of its almost 100-year history, and was the first to record the country's national anthem after it gained independence in 1991.
