What You'll Get

Bassist Mike Mills is best known as one of the founding members of the iconic alt-rock band R.E.M. Now, he's branched out into the classical realm, composing a unique concerto for violin and rock band. Mills has been touring the nation with his longtime friend and acclaimed violinist Robert McDuffie. Together, they'll bring a fresh orchestra-meets-rock 'n' roll performance to Detroit's Music Hall Center. The project bridges the gap between the two genres, with Mills on bass and keyboard leading a four-piece rock band and McDuffie playing violin accompanied by a string orchestra. The program also includes works by John Adams and Philip Glass.
