Focusing on the amazing relationship between canines and humans, this special fest retrieves the best dog-related short films from around the world and unleashes them on screen at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington. The first of two programs offers up a kid-friendly collection of lighthearted animated and narrative pieces, including a remastered version of famed Weimaraner photographer William Wegman's The Hardly Boys in Hardly Gold. The second features short documentaries and more sophisticated dramas and comedies, some of them subtitled. A portion of the event's proceeds will go to Berkshire Humane, which will also have adoptable dogs outside the theater, ready to find their forever homes and available to pose for photos on the green carpet.
