What You'll Get
Grammy-winning singer Cécile McLorin Salvant made a significant splash in 2010 when she became the youngest-ever winner of the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition, and it seems she hasn't stopped to take a breath since. Those who've heard her fine-tuned pitch and dramatic vocal phrasing compare her to the likes of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan, and she's received critical kudos from such media outlets as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and NPR. Still yet to reach the age of 30, she's released three highly-acclaimed discs, including For One to Love, the 2016 Grammy-winner for Best Jazz Vocal Album. Experience The Future of Jazz as part of the Bayside Summer Nights outdoor concert series at Embarcadero Marina Park South, with an opening set from San Diego's own International Academy of Jazz.
