What You'll Get
Piano prodigy Natasha Paremski, who started playing at age 4 and debuted with the LA Phil at 15, has yet to reach 30, but she's already had an award-winning recording and performing career that's taken her to esteemed stages all over the world. Now, the Russian pianist joins the San Francisco Symphony to pay tribute to the great composers of her home country. Paremski will bring her "poetic delicacy" (Los Angeles Times) to bear in performing Rachmaninoff's fiery Second Piano Concerto. Tchaikovsky's masterful Symphony No. 4 follows. One of his finest pieces, the symphony features rich melodies that play out the thunderous battle between man and the forces of fate. Shostakovich's Festive Overture opens this concert conducted by maestro Edwin Outwater at Davies Symphony Hall.
