Renowned cello master Zuill Bailey joins the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra for a classical concert filled with the works of Debussy, Dutilleux, Walton and Elgar. The orchestra and their special guest will gather at Sanders Theatre at Harvard University where they'll perform subtle, dreamy French works, as well as extremely realistic and robust English ones. Thursday, Nov. 17 performance:
This Thursday performance is part of BPO’s Discovery Series, which offers the listener a guide to the music as part of the concert experience. Maestro Zander engages the audience with illuminating and entertaining commentary immediately before the performance of each piece on the program, joined by the orchestra to illustrate points with musical examples. Typically these introductions last approximately 15 minutes each.
Sunday, Nov. 20 performance:
Maestro Zander will offer an optional free pre-show lecture at 1:45 p.m.
