What You'll Get
Famed and acclaimed for their imaginative site-specific productions that take full advantage of their beautiful outdoor property, the Serenbe Playhouse's new staging of Miss Saigon is sure to blow you away with its famous helicopter scene -- set to feature an actual Vietnam-era Huey landing in the forest. This epic, award-winning Broadway musical by Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil (Les Misérables) is a 20th-century twist on Puccini's Madame Butterfly, which tells the tale of a tragic romance between a strong-willed Vietnamese girl and an American G.I. during the last days of the Vietnam War. Their struggles to find each other over the ensuing years end in tragedy for her and a fighting chance for the child he never knew he had. The powerful love story boasts such songs as "I Still Believe," "Sun and Moon," "The American Dream," "Why, God, Why?" and "I'd Give My Life for You."
This production contains themes which may be more appropriate for ages 15+.
