In this remarkable cross-cultural concert, renowned American pianist Simone Dinnerstein and the Havana Lyceum Orchestra cap off a three-day residency at the National Orchestral Institute and Festival with a thrilling performance of Mozart, Fariñas, Tchaikovsky and Márquez. Dinnerstein was performing at a 2015 music festival in Cuba when she was introduced to and inspired by this talented ensemble, made up of young conservatory students, recent graduates and their teachers. A Billboard-charting and groundbreaking series of concerts is the result of this collaboration. Now these young orchestral stars from Cuba will perform music from their U.S. tour before joining with NOI musicians for the second half of the concert at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center in College Park.
