What You'll Get
When you think of chamber music, the clarinet probably isn't the first instrument that comes to mind, but for the great Romantic composers of Germany and Austria around 1900, the instrument held a special appeal. Composers like Zemlinsky, Bruch and Brahms were fascinated by the sound of the clarinet, and used it to great effect. You'll hear their pieces in Chiarina Chamber Players' Fin de Siècle Romantics concert. Clarinetist Vadim Lando brings his "vibrant and virtuosic playing" (The New York Times) to St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C., alongside Chiarina's co-artistic director, pianist Efi Hackmey, and cellist Robert La Rue. After the performance, stick around for the reception and meet the artists.
After the concert, there will be a reception with snacks and drinks, where you can meet the artists.
