What You'll Get
Add some Latin flair to your evening when the Dizzy Gillespie Afro-Cuban Experience comes to Subrosa as part of Blue Note Jazz Festival Presents. Dizzy Gillespie developed Afro-Cuban jazz with Chano Pozo and the form became extremely successful, attracting people to dance to its unique rhythms. Gillespie's most famous contributions to Afro-Cuban music are the compositions "Manteca" and "Tin Tin Deo." The Dizzy Gillespie Afro-Cuban Experience continues this tradition under the leadership of Gillespie's long-time bassist, John Lee, joined by Mario Grillo, aka Machito Jr., son of the legendary Machito, creator of Cu-Bop and a major influence on Gillespie.
