It might take two to tango, but it takes more than two dozen to pull off the fiery exhibition of Argentinian dance known as Tango Buenos Aires. Comprised of 25 talented artists, the acclaimed company combines the passionate and precise movement of its dancers with thrilling live music, tracing the evolution of the art form, as well as celebrating tango's biggest superstar Carlos Gardel, in The Spirit of Argentina. In fact, Tango Buenos Aires has become one of their country's great cultural exports, gaining a reputation throughout the world for their "swirling, fast-paced tapestry of movement, laced with proud postures and sensual couplings" (The Washington Post). For more than 30 years, Tango Buenos Aires has traveled the world as an ambassador of Argentina's most cherished cultural export, and now they bring the stirring sounds and sultry elegance of the tango to Cal Performances' Zellerbach Hall.
