A brilliantly simple and timely concept, the Refugee Project features actors from The Actors' Gang telling their own stories and the story of their ancestors -- where they came from, why they had to leave, and where they eventually settled and began rebuilding their lives. Set somewhere between the 17th century and today, the show tells the story of forced migration and constant struggle for survival in an uncertain and oftentimes hostile environment. Fifteen languages are represented in this workshop production presented at The Actors' Gang Theater in Culver City, weaving together poems, songs and dialogue that illuminate the courage and resilience of refugees.
