When Matt Savage was a toddler, no one would have predicted he would become a musical prodigy by the age of seven. In his early years, Matt Savage was diagnosed with a form of autism and could not tolerate music at all. By age six, however, he was teaching himself piano. His early reading skills and perfect pitch made him a natural and he was soon enrolled in the New England Conservatory of Music. Now, at the age of 24, he is wowing audiences with his highly technical, yet approachable playing style. He has appeared on a number of television shows and has performed with Chick Corea, the Ellington All Stars, Chaka Khan, Wynton Marsalis and many more jazz greats. A dedicated teacher as well, Savage teaches at Community Music Center of Boston, and at Applied Behavioral Learning Services (an organization near Boston for children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities). Don't miss the chance to see one of the best young jazz pianists today in the intimate Edye Second Space, co-presented by The Broad Stage and Jazz Bakery. The tickets identified in this promotion are made available through Goldstar.
