What You'll Get
The Sphinx Organization celebrates its 20th annual Sphinx Finals Concert featuring talented Black and Latino string musicians from across the nation, with guest conductor Thomas Wilkins. This annual concert, held once again at the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Detroit, brings promising Black and Latino string players together and gives them the chance to compete for a $50,000 cash prize. The Sphinx Organization and the University of Michigan Men's Glee Club will premiere a newly composed work titled The Seven Last Words of the Unarmed, which honors the lives of Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, Oscar Grant, Eric Garner, Kenneth Chamberlain, Amadou Diallo and John Crawford.
