This holiday season, American Liberty Ballet brings its own NYC-based version of the Nutcracker to the stage at the Theater at St Jean’s in Manhattan. “The Nutcracker: Welcome to New York Suite-y,” is a delightfully twisted take on the holiday classic that follows Clara, Fritz, and family on a visit their grandparents and Uncle Drosselmeyer in (where else?!) but New York, Suite-y! Clara and Fritz are two troublesome siblings who are always fighting! But when Fritz is kidnapped by her pet rat, Clara and her Nutcracker must search the city to find her. From Subway Performers to a Vegan Bakery in the Village, this original ballet is a love song to NYC and will definitely captivate the entire family! Concept, story-line, and choreography by ALB Artistic Director Valerie Mae Browne directing a company of over 20 artists as well as students from ALB’s official academy.
