Alan Ball -- the Oscar-winning writer of American Beauty and hit HBO series Six Feet Under and True Blood -- penned this audacious comedy revolving around a quintet of reluctant bridesmaids at an elaborate Tennessee wedding reception. Taking refuge in an upstairs bedroom, each of these women is focused on her own personal issue playing out at the party below. But over the course of the day they'll each learn that, despite their many differences, they share a common bond that runs much deeper than their identical outfits.
