Now in its 92nd season, the Boston Civic Symphony is the second oldest symphony orchestra in the city, distinguishing itself through an unusually broad range of music performed by exceptionally skilled students and amateurs. Enjoy performances of unexpected and contemporary works, with a special focus on American compositions with leading soloists at Jordan Hall at the New England Conservatory.
Although guests of all ages are welcome, this is a classical concert with works lasting 30 minutes or more. Anyone who leaves the hall is not allowed to return until the end of a piece.

The Boston Civic Symphony presents this concert led by guest conductor David Feltner, Music Director of the Chamber Orchestra of Boston at Jordan Hall. The concert will feature Charles Dimmick, concertmaster of the Boston Modern Orchestra Project and the Portland (ME) Symphony, as the soloist for Bruch’s ever-popular Violin Concerto No. 1. The program will also include Bernstein’s Overture to Candide and Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony.
