Designed by prolific course architect Jay Morrish—whose work includes the renowned Scottsdale TPC—The Golf Club at Champion’s Circle’s course takes players through a labyrinth of tight fairways sculpted through the towering colossi of mature trees. A relatively lengthy par 72—it measures a menacing 7,005 yards from the tips but a more modest 6,489 yards from the second-farthest tees—the course places a high premium on accurate tee shots with frequent doglegs guarded by a coterie of treacherously placed arbors and grazing golf carts.
Rounds begin fast at the 490-yard, par 4 second—the course’s hardest-rated hole from all four tees—where players must shape their drive left-to-right to wrap around trees kissing the right side of the fairway and evade the expansive bunker and water hazard on the left. Aside from a constant king’s guard of twiggy sentries, the course strikes fear into the hearts of cowardly irons with a variety of intervening ravines, home to hopelessly dense thickets, trickling waters, and the haunting spirits of discarded tees. Divot-tearing duos glide through the woodsy tapestry astride an obedient golf cart, helping them preserve the mental and physical energy required to cope with the grassy monolith’s tough layout and numerous course-management quandaries.

The Golf Club at Champions Circle
Rolling hills, winding creeks, and limestone outcroppings mark the 7,000-yard, Jay Morrish–designed Golf Club at Champions Circle. Spread out at the foot of the Dallas–Fort Worth Marriott Hotel, the course winds among rows of 100-year old oak trees that supply scenic views, shade, and sage advice. The course's longest and shortest holes are back-to-back: the 11th checks in at a whopping 598 yards, and the 12th gives golfers a bit of a breather at just 185 yards. Visitors can prepare for such challenges by visiting the onsite golf shop or by taking advantage of the club's classes and instructional programs.
