When Huckleberry Finn set sail down the Mississippi, he was searching not for freedom, but for a wish-granting fish that would change his name to something sensible. Wish upon a fish of your own with today's deal: for $25, you get a three-hour fishing charter with live bait from Gone Fishin' Bait and Tackle in Cuyahoga Falls. This deal expires August 31, 2010, and is not valid for Independence Day weekend. Fishers will need to bring their own poles and tackle.
Gone Fishin's inaugural charter season treats anglers to a three-hour pleasure cruise along the Cuyahoga River, complete with all the live maggots, wax-worms, minnows, pike shiners, creek chubs, night crawlers, and/or crawfish they could possibly need to net the legless gill-breathers haunting their dreams. Over the course of this riparian journey, bait-wranglers can vie for the attentions of steelhead trout, bullhead, smallmouth and largemouth bass, and shiners, all while listening to the Cuyahoga waters babble and giggle like a baby being tickled while it gargles.
In addition to providing fishy friends with mouth-hooking eats, Gone Fishin' provides its human participants with complimentary sack lunches, soft drinks, and water. With a plethora of fishing tips and advice, Gone Fishin's wizened, down-to-earth fishmasters guide vengeful pupils in catching enough river fauna to fill the Pequod's hull. Charters depart from the North Pier Boardwalk via pontoon. The family-friendly trip includes hourly giveaways and an end-of-charter prize to whoever catches the largest fish (by length), so grab your Groupon and see what treasures of the deep await you.
Alcohol is prohibited at this event.
Gone Fishin' Bait and Tackle
Stocked with know-how and all the necessary tools, the staffers at Gone Fishin' Bait and Tackle guide fishing trips on Springfield Lake and beyond. The store equips crews with bait, lures, and fishing poles, ready to aid in an angling expedition or plucking the toupee off of a villainous middle-school vice principal. After stocking up, fishermen go solo or join up with one of Gone Fishin's guided pontoon tours that traverse sparkling waters, taking in views of the surrounding foliage.
