Comfort food garbs your tongue in luxurious velveteen knickerbockers of flavor, as opposed to discomfort food, which clings to the face like an overtight ascot. Avoid the embarrassment of culinary crampers with today's Groupon for Good Thymes Bistro in Park City. The lunch and dinner menu at Good Thymes Bistro is brimming with Southern style comfort favorites such as fried green tomatoes, pulled barbecue pork, meatloaf sandwiches, and flaky chicken pot pie. Bright and early breakfast dishes include buttermilk pancakes with blueberries and chicken fried steak and eggs. Extra-flakey biscuits can be smothered in savory country gravy, eaten alone, or used as stringless yoyos. Satiate with one of the following options:

  • For $10, you get $20 worth of lunch and dinner fare
  • For $7, you get $15 worth of breakfast fare

Good Thymes Bistro was mentioned in Salt Lake City Weekly. Yelpers give it an average of 3.5 stars, and TripAdvisors give it an average of four owl eyes:

  • There’s a slightly Southern culinary skew here and so, you’ll find atypical dishes such as fried green tomatoes and shrimp with grits on the menu. The latter is a generous plate of creamy, cheesy, yellow grits with a half-dozen medium-large (“jumbo” according to the menu) shrimp cooked and served in a piquant Creole sauce—a little bit of New Orleans at high altitude. And, the homestyle banana-cream pie is well worth sticking around for, too. – Ted Scheffler, Salt Lake City Weekly
  • Their food is reasonably priced and really taste like home cooking. – Sparky E., Yelp

wonderful tastes. Good service. A bit expensive without a coupon. Would have liked to see a more extensive lunch menu (lunch prices); had to get a dinner plate in order to get something I liked. That turns out to be an expensive lunch.

Enjoy breakfast the most, but dinner is great when you feel like some comfort food fare.
