Q:

What are the specs of the karts? Also, we are a group of 6, can we use the 30 FREE laps as a race between the 6 of us?

Jimmy H.  asked on  Mar 3, 2013

A:

Hi Jimmy, the high performance karts are proper racing karts. They have many advanced handling characteristics and are capable of speeds up to 75km/hr. The 30 FREE laps are run in an open lapping session format, not a race format. All karts are equipped with live timing devices so if you are looking for a competitive aspect, time trial competition is most common.

Q:

A few weeks ago I registered for the CRKC, the membership fee is $99.99. If I buy this deal which includes the membership can I use it instead of paying the regular membership fee?

Ed C.  asked on  Mar 3, 2013

A:

The Groupon is only good for the value and services offered and cannot be altered or substituted in any way.

Q:

Can the course be taken on the same day as the race? I live out of town and wouldn't want to make the trip to Goodwood twice. Thanks!

Janice  asked on  Mar 1, 2013

A:

Hi Janice, unfortunately due to regulations the membership process requires our members to attend a mandatory registration session prior to being licensed to drive the karts. This is why it is mandatory that all members come out to one of the mandatory sessions to activate their Groupon. After doing so, you can then come out anytime prior to October 1st to complete your laps.

Q:

So this deal is for the membership and one day of racing as part of a series, correct? How much does it cost to complete the series and what is the schedule of the upcoming season?

Fernanda A.  asked on  Feb 28, 2013

A:

Hi Fernanda, the deal includes your annual membership to the CRKC and 30 practice laps which are to be completed on a non-raceday. With your membership you then have access to do additional practice laps on non-racedays OR you can choose to enter an organized race event. Race events include an hour and a half of open practice, a 5min qualifying session and a 10 lap feature race. Race events are scheduled bi-weekly on the day of your choice and cost $53.10/event. There is 10 races in each championship and the events are simply pay as you play. A driver who chooses to participate in all 10 events will complete the series at a cost of $531.00 Here is a link to the schedule. http://www.goodwoodkartways.com/PDF/2013_CRKC_SCHEDULE_02.01.13.pdf. Feel free to call our office at 905.640.5278 for further clarification. Daniel

Q:

I raced in a beginner program about 12 years a go at Goodwood; it was with a now-defunct 'arrive and drive company in 6HP Honda carts, but it was fun. My only question is that I'm an older, big guy, around 214lbs, and they did not equalize the carts for driver weight until the very final race; hence I was not competitive against 150 lb opponents for the entire season. Do you compensate for weight to make this fair?

Lorne C.  asked on  Feb 26, 2013

A:

Hi Lorne, the Arrive and Drive program that we offer today is a program that is much more developed. Now in our 8th season, the biggest difference is that we have over 1200 members that participate annually. That being said, on any given race day we see anywhere from 30-50 adults which get split up into groups based on age first and weight second. Our race groups end up having 10-12 drivers within a 20 lbs variance. Based on your weight, you won't have the same issue as before. Daniel

Q:

Site says: All drivers must provide their own neck support brace ($39.99). Is this included in the cost?

Taylor B.  asked on  Feb 26, 2013

A:

Hi Taylor, we will provide the neck support for the 30 laps which are included in the deal. If the member then chooses to participate in additional lapping throughout the season, he or she will then be required to own their own neck support. Daniel

Q:

Do you suply the carts??? I rent the suit and helmet? Thanks very much

Janice  asked on  Feb 26, 2013

A:

Hi Janice, Yes, we supply the Karts, Helmets, Racing Suits and Training. These items are all included in your annual CRKC Membership. Furthermore, with this deal your first 30 laps at our facility are FREE. After you complete one of the six mandatory training sessions, you can pick a day to do your 30 laps anytime until October 1, 2013. After your 30 laps are complete, you have membership privileges throughout the season which allows you to buy additional track time if you choose. Hope this helps, Daniel
