Similar deals
Come in from the cold, but prepare to feel a chill as Edgar Allan Poe -- otherwise known as Waltham native Rob Velella -- reappears in Gore Place's historic 1793 Carriage House to inflict some further frights with his dramatic reading of some of the legendary author's spine-tingling stories. After a successful spooking last year, Velella is back with another Poe classic ("The Masque of the Red Death") as well as a few of his lesser-known gems, including a few satires and comedies. The event will be followed by a Q&A, along with light refreshments.
Event Description:
Waltham native and independent scholar Rob Velella has made it his stated goal to " … do nothing less than bring 19th-century writers back from the dead." Using first-person, in-character interpretation, Rob portrays the young Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Nathaniel Hawthorne and, of course, Edgar A. Poe.
This event is recommended for ages 16 and older.
