When listening to the flute and guitar together – especially when played by the expert Cochran-Wrenn Duo – the need for other instruments seems pointless. Indeed, the pairing allows for an ever-expanding universe of musical possibilities, stretching from Bach to tango to Schubert to jazz and beyond. Safe to say, these two master musicians will explore every inch during this colorful and lively program. Drawing inspiration from nature, literature and dance, Cochran-Wrenn will perform pieces by Shafer Mahoney, David Leisner, Edgar Girtain and Franz Schubert. Featured at First Night Worcester, the Worcester Music Guild and Assumption College, the Duo now plays the historic and charming Gore Place.
