In a proper tasting, wine must be held up to the light to gauge its color, tossed on a cat's back to judge its acidity, and sipped through a crazy straw to annoy the host. Become the toast of any tasting with today's Groupon: for $30, you get four premium wine tastings, plus a $20 credit toward wine, at Gougér Cellars & Winery, located in downtown Vancouver, Washington (a $60 value). The winery is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Enologist Gary Gougér draws on his Australian–based winemaking education and background in chemistry to craft international award-winning wines. Visit the rustic, inviting winery with up to three friends to sample ten of Gougér's wines, such as blend 522—a zinfandel drawn from a blend of young and old vine zinfandel grapes and blend 128—a luscious big bold red syrah that shines when paired with steak or pasta with a garlic red sauce. Favorite flavors can be brought home in bottle form ($18–$39 each) to share at dinner parties or bury in a time capsule.

Gougér Cellars Winery
When pharmacist Gary Gougér first started making wine, he was an amateur who was simply translating his love of vino into a pleasurable hobby. Soon, his passion took over, and he began racking up numerous International Gold awards for his red blends. His science background, coupled with training at one of the world’s finest winemaking schools in Australia, helped Gougér take his wines to the next level. Gougér now oversees his own winery, built in 2013 inside a renovated firehouse, where his bottles take center stage at tasting-room events ranging from holiday events to varietal samplers.
