About The Brighton Shave Co.
When Chris Vaughn raises a blade to people's throats, they usually thank him. That's because they're reclined on a barber's chair in The Brighton Shave Co., a men's grooming outpost modeled after traditional American and English barbershops. Before these men enjoy one of the shop's four shaves, though, they must absorb warm moisture from the hot towel draped around their face and the pies cooling on their shoulders, a practice which softens skin and opens pores to allow the closest possible shave. Once skin is set, staff members—also known as the Brighton Classix—lather it with imported products from London brand Geo F Trumper and with botanical blends from True Gentlemen before shaving stubble with regular or straight razors.
Upstairs on the mezzanine level, a pair of stylists operates Brighton's women's salon. Bruce Law expertly edits manes, drawing on 25 years of experience working in salons and the entertainment industry, and Ona J specializes in bolstering thinning manes with extensions and hair-replacement units.
