The rolling emerald carpet of Gracewil Country Club seats two 18-hole courses, each ranked a competitive par 72 and flecked with tranquil apple trees. Players may begin their round on any of the four nines, which focus on the salad of straightforward grasswork without much of the surf 'n' turf obstacles of water and sand. Surviving numerous trials since its 1929 inception, the greens have met each challenge with aplomb and expansion, and now supplement the 36 holes with tasty dining at the clubhouse and a crack team of ball re-dimplers.
Tee times are all day Monday–Friday, and Saturday and Sunday after 2 p.m.
Gracewil Country Club
In 1929, the Wilson family sculpted nine golf holes into their fruit and dairy farm, weaving well-manicured holes among the orchards and appropriating an old farmhouse to serve as the first clubhouse. Today, after several clubhouse iterations, the family still owns the course, having overseen an expansion to two full 18-hole courses during its storied history. Water is featured prominently on both layouts and a diverse gathering of trees line the fairways, from low apple trees that bloom radiant white flowers in the springtime to towering pines vying for inclusion in Wilson family holiday photos.
