WE HAVE BEEN TWO TIMES. EACH TIME THE WAITER WAS NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL. IT WAS KIND OF LIKE WE WERE A BOTHER BEING THERE. THE FOOD WAS GOOD BUT DIDN'T LIKE OUR SERVICE. AND SERVICE IS VERY IMPORTANT AS WELL AS BEING FRIENDLY WITH THE COUSTMERS. I COULD UNDERSTAND IF IT HAPPENED ONCE. EVRYONE CAN HAVE A OFF DAY BUT THIS HAPPENED TWO TIMES WITH US. BOO!

In the late 1800s, thousands of Texans struck it rich when they tapped into veins of thick, dark, tangy barbecue sauce (as chronicled in the Oscar-winning film There Will Be Sauce). Today's Groupon gives you the chance to taste this natural bounty while it's still hot from the earth: for $10, you get $20 worth of barbecue fare and drinks at Grandpa Eddie's Alabama Ribs & BBQ on Three Chopt Road.

Grandpa Eddie's serves up saucy specialties influenced by several of the nation's barbecue capitals. Owner Carey Friedman calls on his own experience in Texas and throughout the south, as well as his Grandpa Eddie's time-honored recipes from Alabama and Kansas City. The result is a menu of classic southern cooking that has gained notoriety since the IBCA State Championship chicken ($15.99), half a smoked chicken, won Virginia-wide recognition and had a brief stint as a Hollywood celebrity. Prepare for a cross-country culinary excursion with an okra basket opener ($5.99) or a slice of peanut butter pie ($5.99), which Grandpa Eddie suggests you eat before your meal. Come dinnertime, try the Texas style beef brisket sandwich ($8.99), slow smoked and snuggled inside a toasted roll with Grandpa Eddie's Birmingham BBQ sauce. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Guiness are both on tap to give spicy sauce a spirited chase. If you can finish your dinner, try another dessert: the doughnut sundae, a warm glazed doughnut topped with French Vanilla ice cream ($3.99).

Featured in Richmond Magazine, dining at this family-owned restaurant is more than just a culinary experience. Local bands play live every weekend, ensuring that other senses don't get bored while your taste-feelers are busy. The restaurant has expanded to a location that seats 300 people, a testament both to its growing popularity and its capacity to serve as an arc in the event of a mega-flood.
