A Chat with Grant Shafranski Golf Academy
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
I believe in teaching students not how to replicate PGA Tour players, but how to take and improve their individual swings and increase the players’ enjoyment of the game. I make students feel comfortable with a light-hearted, positive, and encouraging attitude.
What’s one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans?
Find similarities between the golf swing and a skill you’ve already learned. For example, if you were a tennis player, think about how you would hit a forehand with the ball below your knees. Or if you were a baseball or softball player, think about how you would hit a pitch down in the strike zone.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I truly enjoy watching the learning process and improvement of my students. I live for the “ah-ha” moments in every lesson when the students begin to realize there is very real improvement taking place.
What do you love most about your job?
Hearing from students about how they shot their lowest round after just a few lessons, or how their golf buddies commented on how the student has never driven the ball better. Most importantly, hearing how much fun the student has been having playing golf.
