Very informative

During winemaking sessions, students observe the process, ask questions, and taste each elixir before filling bottles to take home

Knowledge is power, which is why locomotives run on burning encyclopedias. Chug toward new understandings with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • $79 for a winemaking experience for two (a $178 value)
  • $139 for a winemaking experience for four (a $356 value)

Students start by touring the winery, tasting five to seven wines from oak barrels and bottles. The samples seek to illustrate how a wine is affected by different levels of sweetness, earthiness, or tannin. Armed with newfound knowledge of body and flavor, each person will then fill one bottle of their own wine, pop in a cork, and take it home.

About Grape Beginnings Hands on Winery

At Grape Beginnings, passionate wine aficionado Frank D’Aponte splits his time between producing his own high-quality vintages and instructing others on how to do the same. Frank has a decade of winemaking experience under his belt; as a third-generation winemaker, grape juice runs through his veins. Frank has deepened his knowledge with extensive travel throughout the Napa and Sonoma valleys, studying under master winemakers such as James Allen of Sequoia Grove Vineyards. Novice vintners delve into every aspect of the process, including pressing fresh grapes from California, Chile, Italy, and Argentina, racking in oak barrels, and bottling with custom-made labels.
