Though many things have changed on Main Street in Newark, Grassroots Handcrafts has remained an institution. The store, which sells a wide range of specialty gifts, such as bath and body products, candles, women’s apparel, kids’ novelty toys, and home decor, has been in business since 1975. It’s still operated by Marilyn Dickey, who gets help from her two daughters, Kristin and Joanna. Delaware Todaygave a shout-out to the store, calling its wares “funky, fun, and unusual.”
