Gratzzi Italian Grille
Chef Tony of Gratzzi Italian Grille brings a touch of his native Italy to downtown St. Petersburg, but puts his own spin on traditional Italian dishes. His creativity shines in such eats as scallop sliders, which he firsts sears, then layers with seaweed, tuna tartar, wasabi aioli, and habanero mango sauce.
Other imaginative dishes include crispy half-ducks with apple-Craisin stuffing and Grand Marnier sauce and the dazzling cavatelli Bada Bing. To make this, the chef flambées handmade ricotta cavatelli inside a giant Padana parmesan wheel, a table-side show almost as entertaining as watching your little brother replace your dad's shoestrings with noodles.
Gratzzi's dining room is also a tad untraditional with its cubist artwork and mosaic tile details. It features an open pizza bar, too, where diners can watch their classic and gluten-free pies cook.
