Gravity Espresso & Wine Bar

The Calgary couple who owns Gravity Espresso & Wine Bar prides its business on two main concerns: the quality of their menu items and supporting the community. To that end, as many ingredients as possible are sourced from local suppliers, from Pascal's Patisserie croissants to Phil & Sebastian coffee beans. As drink orders come up, baristas melt Papa Chocolat chocolate into mochas, eschewing flavoured syrups in their espresso drinks to preserve the integrity of the beans' flavour. Spolumbo's sausage stars in the eatery’s hot pressed paninis, which diners enjoy as they relax amid royal-blue walls and black-and-white artist prints. The business owners also support varying local charities each month to further their commitment to the community.

As the sun begins to set each day, tastes turn toward beers from Oregon, Quebec, and Belgium or 6-ounce pours of wine paired with curated cheese platters. On Friday, singers and songwriters season the air with their acoustic tunes, and every Saturday open-mic nights encourage everyone to get in on the action.
