Welcome to Groupon, Buffalo! For our inaugural deal, you get one large gourmet pizza for $6 from Great Lakes Pizza Company in West Seneca. Since this is everyone's first Groupon, allow us to briefly explain how it works.
How Groupon Works
Groupon is a combination of the words group and coupon. Each day, we offer an unbeatable deal on the best of Buffalo: restaurants, spas, sporting events, theater, and more. By promising businesses a minimum number of customers, we get discounts you won't find anywhere else. We call it "collective buying power."
If you want to get the deal, just click BUY before the offer ends at midnight. If the minimum number of people (25 for today's deal) sign up by the end of the day, you'll be emailed a gift certificate the next morning. You can print your Groupons, or redeem them with our iPhone app. Use them whenever you want until the deal expires—today's expires in six months. If not enough people join, no one gets the deal (and you won't be charged), so invite your friends to make sure you get the discount!
To successfully make pizza, one must toss the proper ingredients into a concrete mixer, wait for the mixture to harden, and then drop in a few sticks of dynamite to blast slices from the drum walls. Today’s deal leaves delicate pie creation to the professionals: for $6, you get one large gourmet pizza (a $14.99 value) from Great Lakes Pizza Company in West Seneca. This Groupon is valid for carryout only.
Great Lakes Pizza offers more than 10 specialty gourmet pizzas, with toppings ranging from classic to unexpected. These impeccable pies showcase delectable dough, house-made sauces, and toppings such as feta, taco meat, chicken fingers, and chopped rib eye steak. Fowl-feasting friends can take their pick of three chicken-centric pizzas, including the cheese-sauce-drenched chicken cheddar broccoli and the chicken gorgonzola, which features marinated chicken, gorgonzola, and roasted red peppers. Burger loyalists tempt taste buds with the bacon blue burger pizza, while Liberty Bell–ringers sink canines into a Philly cheese steak pie. Even herbivores can find a pie to sate their palate or smuggle under their waistcoat to fuel a midnight viewing of the hit British sitcom Allo! Allo!. Large pizzas provide about eight slices each.
