What You'll Get
Summer camps can teach children valuable new skills, like how to recognize poison ivy or fashion a working canoe out of popsicle sticks and macaroni elbows. Saddle your child with a new skill set with today’s Groupon: for $75, you get a one-week horse camp at Green Haven Horse Stables in Alexander (a $125 advanced value, or a $150 value for customers who sign up after July 1). The one-week camps are offered Monday through Friday during select weeks in June, July, and August from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
During Green Haven Horse Stables’ weeklong summer camps, children ages 6 to 14 learn the fundamentals of good horsemanship while assembling a new posse of pals. Experienced instructors teach the art of wrangling and riding a saddled steed through lessons on horse anatomy, grooming, and riding basics. Crafty campers are encouraged to share their creativity and abstract-expressionist-painting skills by contributing to a mural that will be displayed on-site. Other activities include a nature scavenger hunt, icebreaker activities, archery, sponge relays, and a water-balloon toss. Each student will receive a complimentary T-shirt to match their clodhopping campmates.

About Green Haven Horse Stables
The instructors at Green Haven Horse Stables guide riders of all skill levels on the path to proper horsemanship with private and group lessons as well as summer camps for children. Each lesson focuses on safety and building self-confidence, which are of the utmost importance when commanding a steed to jump over fences or ride through an airport security checkpoint. Riders may choose to ride in the styles of English, hunter jumping, Western, or dressage, with intermediate and above dressage lessons conducted by a certified USDF judge. At summer camps, children ages 6–14 receive a proper introduction to horses, spending a full week learning the subtleties of equitation and participating in fun-filled games and activities.
