Green Hills Golf Course

In the 1930s, Prohibition-era bootlegger Max Hassel was blacklisted by a Pennsylvania country club due to his illicit wheeling-and-dealing—so he took matters into his own hands. Hassel commissioned Sir Robert White, a renowned Scottish course designer, to craft a 9-hole course on his Robeson Township estate, where no one could deny him access. Though it's received several upgrades since its original construction, the 2,934-yard, par 36 course still bears the characteristics of links-style golf, with intricately contoured greens, deep bunkers, and blotches of thick rough that punish inaccurate play.

Customer Reviews

A little off the beaten path, we had a great time!
Amy C. · July 10, 2014
While the greens may be inconsistent and need a little upgrading, the course is nice and the price is very nice. The course is a little off the beaten path, but once there, you will find the staff extremely friendly and willing to help. This is a small, family-run business and the appreciation of clientele is displayed by all workers. It is not an overly-challenging course and perfrect for the beginner and 'duffer' of the group. Due to recent wet weather, the sand traps were more like clay, but that just makes it easier to get out of them. I recommend that if you are just beginning and want an interesting course, that you visit this one.
