The Issue: Healthful Meals Help Keep Kids Engaged
Easter Seals UCP North Carolina & Virginia, Inc. runs ten children's centers that provide care, education, and therapy for kids with a variety of disabilities including autism, cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome, as well as children without disabilities. The centers provide three meals a day for the children—some of whom spend up to 10 hours a day at the centers—to keep them focused and energetic.
The Campaign: Provide Nutritious Meals for Children
For every $10 this Grassroots campaign raises, Easter Seals UCP North Carolina & Virginia, Inc. can fund a day’s worth of healthful meals for one child with a disability. Each additional $10 raised will fund a day of meals for another child.
You can follow the progress of this and other Grassroots campaigns at the Groupon Grassroots website.
Easter Seals UCP North Carolina & Virginia, Inc.
Easter Seals UCP North Carolina & Virginia, Inc. runs nine children’s care centers across the region that serve infants and children with disabilities. The care centers offer special services including speech, occupational, and physical therapy to those with disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome, in addition to classes for children with and without disabilities. Its curriculum is designed to appeal to each age group, with developmental programming for toddlers and exploratory play with toys for children up to age 8. Because the classes are inclusive, differently abled children learn together in groups, breaking down social barriers and encouraging them to help each other learn.
