ACE Mentor Program mentors more than 200 youth in the DC region through its afterschool program, with the goal of introducing young people to potential careers in architecture, construction, and engineering. The organization partners with design-focused colleges and industry professionals to provide mentees with hands-on training and inspiration.
ACE Mentor Program regularly takes students on experiential field trips to observe construction and design professionals use computers, machines, and ancient Egyptian incantations to populate the community with sound structures. Students on field trips often tour construction sites, visit business offices, and explore local college campuses with a guide. Additionally, hands-on projects provide real-world experience with the fundamentals of the architecture, engineering, and construction industries. ACE Mentor Program requires additional funds to transport students to field-trip locales.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help send students on experiential construction and design field trips. If G-Team members raise $210, then ACE Mentor Program can fund round-trip metro passes for 20 field trips with six students each, including matching donations from the ACE Mentor Program. Each additional donation will fund field-trip transportation for another six students.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100 percent off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
