According to data gathered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 11,000 children living in Pennsylvania suffer from juvenile arthritis (JA), causing stiffness, pain, loss of mobility, and flu-like symptoms in youth under age 18. The Arthritis Foundation works to mitigate the impact of arthritis by advocating for research, educating people afflicted with the disease, and sponsoring programs to help them handle daily challenges.
The Arthritis Foundation’s Supporting Kids with Arthritis program plans to launch a 2012 campaign to distribute backpacks filled with informative materials to the families of children with JA in western Pennsylvania in 2012. Each backpack contains educational materials and resources to help manage the impacts of the disease, and heat-therapy teddy bears to provide physical comfort and relief. Heat-therapy teddy bears radiate soothing warmth to reduce pain and inflammation in the joints, making doctor’s visits and waiting periods for IV infusions and injections more bearable.
Join G-Team and donate $5 to help temper pain caused by juvenile arthritis. If G-Team members raise $300, then the Arthritis Foundation can distribute heat-therapy bears to 12 children with juvenile arthritis. Each additional $25 raised will fund a bear for another child.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
