Each year, Arts & Scraps recycles 28 tons of material. The organization then makes these former industrial items available to classrooms and other organizations for use in hands-on learning activities. Arts & Scraps also organizes educational programs during which adults and youngsters fashion sculptures, masks, and other works of art from repurposed materials, keeping with the organization's efforts to help make creative experiences both accessible and affordable and to promote inventive ways to reuse discarded materials.
At its parent-child workshops, Arts & Scraps instructors demonstrate to parents how materials that might otherwise be thrown away can instead be used to pique children's creativity and imagination. Parents and children work side-by-side, creating fun projects with provided materials. Instructors also give parents handouts with ideas for more projects that families can create together at home. Additionally, parent-child duos can visit the ScrapMobile bus to find more materials to take home for creating projects for fun, learning experiences for both.
Join G-Team and donate $5 to help Arts & Scraps provide recycled materials so parents and children can create creative art projects together. If G-team members raise $175, Arts & Scraps can fund projects for 35 parents and their preschool-aged children. Each additional $5 raised will pay for another parent and child.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
