The Siragusa Transplantation Center at Children's Memorial Hospital performs an average of 50 solid organ and 50 stem-cell transplants each year and has one of the largest and most highly regarded pediatric liver-transplant programs in the world. After being discharged, many transplant patients and their families move from the hospital to Kohl's House, just steps away from the hospital, where they receive home health services during their recovery.
At Kohl's House, children and their families can stay together in one of eight bedrooms as the children rest and heal from a transplant procedure. All of the house’s staff members are part of Children's Memorial Hospital and work directly with the hospital's transplant teams, ensuring that patients receive continued care during recovery. Amenities include bedrooms with two twin beds and a private bath, a large family room, and a playroom, as well as direct communication with the hospital. Kohl’s House asks families to contribute $10 per night to help with costs, but no family is turned away if space is available. Thus, Kohl's House relies almost entirely on donations from organizations and individuals to meet expenses.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help accommodate families whose children are undergoing or recovering from transplant procedures at Children's Memorial Hospital. If G-Team members raise $600, then Children's Memorial Hospital can fund one family's stay for a week, including the cost of dinner, at Kohl's House. Each additional $600 raised will fund another week's stay.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
