What You'll Get
Friends for Youth supports at-risk young people in the San Francisco peninsula and South Bay with a long-term one-to-one adult-and-child mentoring program. As part of the program’s more than 150 Friendships, youth who may be struggling in school or at home can spend time with an adult role model, who can spark their curiosity with new interests, provide mentoring, and help boost their self-esteem.
Friends for Youth's Senior Friends volunteer to spend time with a Junior Friend between the ages of 8 and 17, solidifying a relationship of trust and support with weekly activities such as going to the movies, visiting the zoo, and reading together. Friends for Youth plans to send mentor and mentee pairs on an adventure trip to Lake Tahoe to help strengthen the bond between Friends and introduce youth to exciting outdoor activities such as skiing and snowboarding. With $300, a mentor-and-mentee pair can attend the trip, with funding to cover the cost of transportation, a meal, skiing or snowboarding lessons, and equipment rental.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help bolster Friendships between at-risk youth and adult role models. If G-Team members raise $300, Friends for Youth can send one pair of Friends on a snowboarding-and-skiing-adventure outing on Lake Tahoe. Each additional $300 raised will fund transportation, a meal, lessons, and rental for one Friend pair.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
