Through efforts including its resale shop, workforce development services, job search and placement, interview-clothing assistance, and transportation aid, Goodwill strives to help people facing barriers secure meaningful employment. In addition to free, priceless karma, G-Team members who contribute $20 to today's campaign will also receive a $10 shopping certificate.
For job seekers, transportation aid such as bus passes and gas cards can be a vital means of getting to job interviews and job fairs and utilizing resources such as those offered by Goodwill’s workforce-development services. Because people are less likely to be able to afford transportation the longer they’re unemployed, most job seekers coming to Goodwill for help need transportation aid. In the past year, Goodwill has distributed 314 gas cards and 2,900 single and monthly bus passes to clients seeking jobs.

A donation of $5 will allow Goodwill to give a job seeker two two-hour bus passes. A $10 donation provides a job seeker with a $10 gasoline gift card. With a $20 donation, Goodwill can give a job seeker a five-day bus pass. If 30 people donate $5, $10, or $20, then Goodwill of Southern Nevada can sponsor transportation for 30 low-income Las Vegas job seekers.
